Mikyong completed her undergraduate studies and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from UCLA in California. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at Regis College in Boston. With 35 years of experience as a pediatric nurse, she worked at both UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.

Her career began as an operating room nurse on the cardio-thoracic team. However, she quickly recognized the importance of patient interaction and transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UCLA, where she worked for two years before relocating to Rhode Island. The majority of her nursing career was spent at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where she worked on the infant floor, in the pediatric intensive care unit, and at the primary care clinic. Additionally, she was part of the critical care transport team and the pediatric sedation team, and she served as a nursing supervisor for five years.

Mikyong is certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and holds dual certification in Adult and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor Society for Nursing.

Mikyong is married and has two young adult children. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, cycling, and practicing yoga. She joined Pediatric Associates of Fall River in April 2025 and is excited to serve the community of Fall River and its surrounding areas.
